Is It Fall?
Technically it is.
Hello, everyone! Is it fall where you are yet? I know it is TECHNICALLY fall, but it hasn’t felt like it yet here in Indiana. We had “false fall” a bit ago, and now we’re back into full blown summer.
“Fall Bouquet” and “Owl and Mums” are both available as prints in my shop.
If you know me, you may know I have a “thing” for acorns. My mom told me that her mom (who I have no memories of) carried an acorn with her every day for good luck, and I love that so much. It makes me feel connected to my family to remember this story, and finding acorns everywhere I go this time of year makes me happy.
Portraits
Last week I finished up a Family Portrait for a family I’ve been drawing periodically since 2017. It’s always very satisfying to not only see how families grow and change over the years, but also how my technique grows and changes (and sometimes how it stays the same: don’t fix what’s not broken). I’ve now been making family portraits for over 17 years!

To be honest it’s been difficult to keep up with my daily sketchbook lately, but so far I have faithfully always gone back and filled in the days I’ve missed. Today I need to make five drawings to be caught up, woops!!
Show Updates
Happily my last outdoor show of the season is now behind me, and we’re headed into the holiday season, which means cooler temperatures (hopefully, someday, fingers crossed) and indoor shows!!
